Argentina and Uruguay! May 2009

I Loved traveling in Argentina and Uruguay! This time I went with Elena. She is soooo sweet! She took me to see all of my Extended family! I went in May of this year. First I went to Colonia, Urugay and later Elena and I crossed the Rio de La Plata to visit Julian's family in Argentina.

I know that I told you about Argentina in a previous blog, but here's a little on Uruguay.

Uruguay is located in the southeastern part of South America. It is home to 3.46 million people. The capital is Montevideo and there are 1.7 million people there! crazy tiny! I loved it!

Colonia del Sacramento is Uruguay's oldest European settlement, and it was founded by the Portuguese in 1680. Montevideo was founded by the Spanish in the early 18th century.

Here I am driving around in Montevideo, Uruguay. Super fun time!

Here I am with Tio Marcelo. He took me around Uruguay and told me about the amazing Tangueros (tango singers) and Dulce de Leche that was first created there. Yum!

Here I am with Tia Elis. (Elena's sister). We are in Bahia Blanca, Argentina having a delicious coffee!!! I almost couldn't finish mine!

More Chorizos and Asado! I just Couldn't get enough! This was cooked by Tio Cacho (Elena's other brother). It's his Specialty!

I got a chance to hang out with Julian's cousin, Lucrecia. What a cool kid!
and while in Cipolletti, Rio Negro, Argentina, I got a tour from Julieta! She's so smart! She's been to Louisiana before, and hopefully soon she'll come to Tucson for a visit too!


What a great trip! I was super tired.... lots of things to see..lots of wonderful foods! South America is Glorious!!!!

I've been gone for almost a month! Haven't had much time to stop and Blog about it, it's been go go go non stop here!

But today I did learn something New! Mexico got it's independence from Spain on September 16th in 1810 !! Wow!

I just arrived, and I'm super tired. I'm at Florencia's office right now waiting for her to finish working and take me home.

My next trip is Back to Mexico!

It is the largest island of the West Indies group (equal in area to Pennsylvania), Cuba is also the westernmost—just west of Hispaniola (Haiti and the Dominican Republic), and 90 mi (145 km) south of Key West, Fla., at the entrance to the Gulf of Mexico.

The island is mountainous in the southeast and south-central area (Sierra Maestra). It is flat or rolling elsewhere. Cuba also includes numerous smaller islands, islets, and cays.
